'slack'

1 of 3wks gone wif majority of the battalion away in aus for Ex Wallaby. How was life? More or less is slack larz, but we had lotsa area cleaning to do. The only cumbersome thing we had to do is to fall in for role call 3 times a day at 0745, 1330 and 1730hrs. Very boring indeed...

Day 1, our sgt gave us a 'day-off' and we had the whole day to ourselves. I was told tt me and Eric had 4 tanks which we're supposed to have their interior cleaned and have as many faults serviced as possible by the end of the 3wks when the Wallaby personnel return. Hmm...4 tanks...2 of us to clean...

Day 2, our sgt wanted us to go clean the 1st tank le. It's his intention for us to complete 1 tank per day and finish everything by the 1st wk so tt we can relax for the nxt 2wks(I din think it was possible cos it's the ARMY!). True enough, the we're supposed to take instructions from the tech(technicians)-squad ppl for us to help them repair our vehicles but only 2 of them remained in S'pore (1 sgt and 1 pte) and the sgt was on MC! In the end, Eric did his BOS(before operations servicing) and the rest of the day was for us again.

Day 3, there was actually nothing planned for us initially. As the coy-line was 'littered' wif leaves, the COS shouted for us to go down and do area cleaning. As many of us were sleeping(me excluded), only a few of us went down(it was enough ppl though). After we've finished cleaning quickly, the COS suddenly said the armourer(someone who makes sure our weapons are 'fit for firing') wanted 3 men to be attached to him. It sounds like there's gonna be a lot to do and the COS only managed to convince 2 guys(among those who were sleeping while we were cleaning) to go lorz. As we were going up and the COS down, he asked for 1 more volunteer among those who were cleaning. I volunteered myself cos I buay tahan no one wanted to help lorz. So the 3 of us went to the armourer and much to our surprise and happiness, we only had to do stuff when he tells us to and we balonglong most of the time lorz, hehe. After lunch and the 1330 role call, the rest of the ppl had to go clean up a main road in the camp, including the drains beside it. Haha, serves them well lorz, dun wana volunteer, the ones who volunteered got the last laugh in the end.

Day 4, yesterday, the worst day of the wk for me larz. Me and Eric spent the morn and aftnoon until 1500hrs cleaning the interior of 1 tank. In the morn, all I had was a sponge and a pail of detergent water. I was cleaning until I super-pissed cos there was lotsa dried mud stuck in lotsa small holes, corners etc everywhere! I did not bring along my mini-screwdriver so dun have the neccessary tools lorz. Couldn't do much and progress was negligible. We stopped at ard 1030hrs and went back to bunk to get our stuff. As we were quite shagged already, we decided to continue only in the aftnoon at 1330hrs aft role call, hehe =P. With my screwdriver, along wif a piece of cloth and the pail of detergent water, I worked thru' the gunner and commander compartments while Eric worked on the driver compartment. As said earlier, we finished our work at ard 1500hrs lorz. We returned to our bunks feeling shagged but satisfied that we've finished our work and after getting permission from sgt, we went playin' b-ball! Whaha, how happy I was lorz, it's my fav sport even though I'm not gd enough at it. It's been a long time since I last played b-ball le. As usual, the ppl ard me were all quite pro lorz, better than me by a lot. I did fairly well larz, my normal standard, my normal style, taking long shots somewhere within the semi-circle near the 3pt line, missing quite a lot but nonetheless scored a few nice shots. Later in the nite, Edmond asked me to join the c-coy tankees at the i-net rm where we could surf the net(15min limit though) and some of them played CS. After tt, we gathered at the enlistee's mess and played Risk. Well, lousy me forgot wat tactics to employ and I spreaded out my troops almost evenly at the beginning and I was out of the game very very quickly. The correct strategy is to concentrate ur troops on 1 terroritory and then expand slowly, giving up the rest of the terroritory if neccessary lorz. Nxt time I'll noe how to play den won't kana thrashed so easily le, haha.

Today, we had nothing to do again. But this time, it is becos sgt kenny was doing guard duty the previous nite, so he only returned in the morn and needed rest lorz, haha. We were scheduled to go gym in the morn and aft tt, there was nothing for us lorz. We slacked a while, did area cleaning a while and aft the area inspection at ard 1700hrs, much to our disappointment, our 2nd floor didn't pass the requirement and we had to clean it again(din take long though, cos not very dirty larz) b4 the officer inspecting gave us the green light to go for our dinner and bk out!

Well, seems like din do much rite....actually the feature of our everyday life is the area cleaning at coy-line! The 4 trees at b-coy is very diff from the trees at the other 2 coys lorz. Also duno why larz, our trees always have leaves falling throughout the day lorz, sian diaoz. In the morn aft our breakfast at ard 0600hrs, we will sweep the floor for the 1st time for tt day. The floor will be littered wif leaves b4 long and in the aftnoon, we will do at least another 2 times lorz. Hai, very mafan lehz. Hmm, 1 wk gone jus like this and we've only cleaned 1 of the 4 tanks...Duno how larz, tt's for our sgt to think about larz, I worry too much only bother myself when there's nothing I can do abt it...haha. If we dun manage to get our tanks cleaned and serviced b4 the Wallaby personnel return, then the tankees would have to return during our 1 wk bloc leave immediately aft they return from aus lorz, if tt's the case den very sad larz, but this kinda thing is see heng-sway wan lorz...we'll see in time...hehe...
