death note 2
Well, having missed watching Death Note at the theatre, I wasn't gonna take any more chances. I was passing by JE on my way home and decided to go catch Death Note 2. Death Note 1 covered all that I already know from the anime I'm watching, which is still ongoing, so it wasn't tt bad, and I watched it in parts on Youtube as well, quite sucky of course.
Its a very good plot in my opinion, the story only gets more and more intriguing. Interesting how the 2 geniuses, L and Light, try to outwit each other and also trying to fully comprehend how they can maximise the use of the Death Note while abiding by the rules. (since it'll fail you in some way if you violated the rules) In my opinion, the ultimate winner was Ryuk who dropped the Death Note in the first place, out of boredom. He had all the fun he wanted and did not lose anything (unless Meb and Jealous meant something to him =.=)
More rules were introduced to us as the plot thickens, such as the fact that after you've given up ur Death Note, you lose all your memory abt it but it all comes back when you touch any Death Note again. Both owners of the Death Note used this rule to outwit L when they were confined, avoiding a confession.
When Light got the 2nd Kira (who had Death God's eyes) to get L's real name while they all met in school, he thought he had won the battle with L. After they've left each other, he immediately called 2nd Kira (hoping her to kill L immediately I guess), only to find L on handphone which L had stolen from 2nd Kira. That was the funniest part of the show I think, lol. Well, those who watched Death Note shud jus finish up the story wif this final sequel, whether you like it or not eh? ;)

christmas eve
The busiest December I ever had in my life. It was a belated celebration cum Vivian's bday celebration for my jc clique on wednesday, Vivian's bday celebration at her home on Friday, Jun Nan's bday celebration at his home on Saturday and a Christmas party wif my sec sch friends at Dione's house yesterday(Sunday). Phew! Din felt very good this morn cos I slept late last night after watching Chelsea won another hard-fought match wif another wonder goal from one of their multi-millionaires.
I just realised that today was the first real Christmas "party" I've ever been to. Used to just meet up wif my jc friends at Orchard Rd for dinner and then chill out in town area. Today I even had to prepare for gift exchange, haha. Bought a polar bear wif a santa cap at Westmall before meeting up wif Min Yang, Yong Yun, Han Teng and Chong Leng. The turnout wasn't as good as I thought it'd be but it was good enough nonetheless (I'm not a fan of big crowds anyway, hehe). Really enjoyed our time there, gambling wif Yong Sheng whose sense of humour never fails to tickle our funny bone.
I had to wake up early to follow my parents to pay respects (wonder if its the right word) to my youngest bro. Yup, I guess its not so awkward to talk about it now and I guess my dear blog readers can noe, I would've had a 2nd bro who was 12 yrs younger than me had he made it. He was prematurely born but only managed to be around for less than 20days.
That was ard 1998 when I just made it into Commonwealth. It felt wierd initially, I was really looking forward to having a baby bro to take care of, and he din made it home and I never saw him before. My parents didn't take me and bro there to see him cos he was very very small-sized, probably not something we should see since we were still young and our grandparents were very against it. It must have been really ard on my mum but she being a pragmatic, strong woman, managed to handle it very well. Sometimes I just feel kinda sad wondering how having another bro would be like but other than that, there weren't a lot of sentiments attached since I never really knew him.
Today we went to the columbarium and we spent time there cleaning his columbaria. That was when I felt something for him. He never really had the chance to live. If I didn't remember wrongly, it was the docs who pulled the plug, thinking he probably won't survive. If he was ard, he would've been an eight-year-old who was probably doing all that he could to impress his parents, trying to act smart kind eh, heh.

yanru/vivian's bday celebration
Heh, enjoyed a dinner at JP Swensens with my best buds from NJ eh. We were having a belated celebration for Yanru whose bday was in November and it was so late that we also celebrated Vivian's bday a few days b4 her actual party, lol.
It was nice for all of us to do some catching up, chatting face-to-face instead of jus on MSN eh, that sux big time actually, but we have to make do wif it most of the time wif so many ppl since everyone's so busy, hahaha. The logcake was really nice, haha.
Well, glad that it made their day (the gals) especially since Vivian came here aft a long day of work, haha. Hope can stay in touch wif this grp for a long long long time.

man and boy
Yup, jus finished this bk recently. Nice read, should go try it if you haven't, especially guys since the protagonist is this man who had an early marriage, and a kid. At 30 years of age, he felt that he was missing out something in life since he married early. While his peers still haven't settled down, enjoying life in some sense, he's already tied down to a family and a child. He and his wife also never got the chance to enjoy life with just the both of them. As a result, he had a one-night stand with one of his colleague, and that incident, after being discovered by his wife, changed his life forever.
That's because his wife is a very capable, highly-qualified woman who gave up her career prospects for the sake of him and the child. She came from a broken family and made it a point that her son doesn't suffer the same fate. The protagonist, on the other hand, comes from a perfect family but also with the same goal as his wife, to give his son a perfect family. After the incident, his wife decides to give another shot at pursuing her lost career, leaving behind him and the child. In the midst of it all, he fell in love with a single-parent mum who had a daughter from her previous marriage.
He took a while to figure things out, how to take care of his child, and learning more abt love and marriage along the way. In the end, he seemed to have figured some part of it out, but reading the synopsis for the follow-up to this bk, Man and Wife, I think he fell in love with a 3rd woman later on.

casino royale
It was gonna be a stay-home day wif no plans when suddenly Cheng Hon calls to tell me he and Yuan Sheng are at JE! What a rare occasion for them to be in the western side and they jio-ed me out, how can I reject them eh? Met up wif them before we decided to go catch a movie, which we decided to be Casino Royale only at Cine eh. Seems to have good ratings, why not give it a shot eh, haha.
This is the first Bond movie I watch at the cinema, the rest I only watch on tv years after the movie has been shown, lol. I hear all sorts of stuff about this show being good, different from the other Bonds. Now I see why, though I kinda think this new Bond spoils the image of 007, for good or bad it's up to everyone to decide themselves.
In my opinion, this new Bond isn't as "elegant" as the old Bonds, the most elegant of which I think is Pierce Brosnan. Daniel Craig makes the new Bond very rugged, more reckless than ever, seems more like a street fighter now. =.= The show has a very good plot I'd say, moments when you can't predict what's gonna happen, though him getting a royal flush to win the poker game was kinda exaggerating. On the whole, this movie is worth watching. Go watch it if u haven't. And yah, so quickly (not as quickly as like 2 posts in my blog of course, I posted abt it much later than when I started watching it, lol), Bones gets kinda boring, and I jus found out it was a flop in the States. Numb3rs has its boring episodes, but still remains slightly attractive to me, due to the analogies the mathematician uses to simplify theories he use to perform his calculations. The best is still CSI, muahaha.

don't give up...
Something tt jus dawned on me, at 21yrs of age, not too late i hope. Everyone experiences shit/crap in all forms from any part of their life. It's just that, everyone keeps it to themselves, tolerating nonsense be it from work, from colleagues, from friends, or even from family members. But sometimes, it's good to let it all out really, telling someone close, or even if it means crying eh, definitely you'll feel better aft tt.
Got this email quite a while back.. Its abt this person who commited suicide by jumping out of the window in his room. To cut it short, along the way down at different floors, he saw his neigbours (in the vertical sense) all having their own problems which some are in fact much more terrible than why the person himself decided to commit suicide. Of course, he regreted his decision on his way down and sadly there was no way back and he died eh.
I guess we must learn to accept the challenges that come along our way in life and not jus crumble and resort to the easiest means of alleviating the pain/suffering eh. Easier said than done of course, try our best?
