a street soccer "prodigy's" humble beginning...

This week marks a new chapter, the final chapter actually, of the corporals at 46Sar B Coy. The mono-intake people have started clearing their leave/off til their ORD on the 5th Dec. A company of 100+ people is left with less than 1/2 remaining and 30+ of them waiting for their NSF days to run out til somewhere in March and April next year.

Last night, very unlike and sporting of Kok Boon, jio-ed us to soccer at our company-line after dinner. We're definitely steady when the least likely person to play has decided to play lorz, even though I've already bathed and prepared to read my novel for the rest of the night le. Sorry to Eric for rejecting him earlier lorz, there's not enough people to play even if I agreed anyway =P. Anyway, we managed to have 3-v-4 initially which grew in size as we played on.

It's my 2nd street soccer match in my life and playing around people who really know how to play, makes me stand the shit out of them sia. I played terrible to say the least, though can't fault me larz, cos I simply dunno how to kick the ball! This sounds really funny cos I'll keep cursing and swearing at those millionaires playing in the EPL wk in wk out when they do stupid things, things which I did during the 2 matches I played, lol. Guess I can only be a manager of a football club larz, not a player, lol.

Anyway, the best chance of the game fell to me when I was behind the opponent's "defence line" just beside the cone(acting as goal post) and someone, can't remember who, probably Eric, lobbed the ball to me and with my back facing the goal, I somehow managed to turn with the ball, the ball being right in front of me threatening to roll outwards towards the right due to its pace. So I tried to steer the ball between the cones before it went out, panicked a little, and only managed to whack the ball at the cone and it went out. -_-" x infinity. Nothing more to say man, I bet everyone was thinking, "What the...", lol. I could only laughed at how lousy and stupid-looking I was sia, but since they were people I know, didn't feel that bad lar, they know my standard, they know I'm playing to learn and to train up my fitness. The ultimate joke was me scoring a goal again!!! BUT...it's an own goal...lol. My career stats so far? 2 own goals in 2 games. Perfect, isn't it? Whaha....

Hopefully there're more of such matches to come in the nxt few months and maybe by the time I ORD, with a bit of luck, I can kick the ball slightly better, and properly, haha.

update

Hmm, what have I been up to recently? Well, I'm concentrating on improving my webby after revamping it with an interface I'd say is one of my best since I started designing webpages. The number of visitors is increasing very slowly but I'm glad it is, haha. I've also started another blog, together with 2 of my platoon mates, who're football fans. There at the English Premier League blog, we discuss about our views and the happenings around the EPL week in week out.

I've managed to come up with my own Naruto-themed blogskin! Spent some time looking at the source codes of some customised blogskins and somehow extracted all the codings that is required for my blog to display the right things. Back in camp, the corporals are busy with COS duties and us, the tankees are of course, still servicing our tanks(yup, it never ends...). The good news is that some of our tanks will be loaned to another unit for training and that means we'll have less tanks to take care of and service when the mono-intake ppl ORD on 5 Dec lorz.

Recently I've been wondering how many old friends I've lost touch with because of the way I am. I only like to keep in touch with a small grp of friends who're very very close to me. There're ppl who maintain contact with almost all their friends but of course, most of them are just a hello-byebye kind.

Oh yah, I've just finished reading the 2 books by Dan Brown, Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. They're controversial books related to Christianity and Catholicism(is this the correct word?) but I find them really good. They're written in very similar style which keeps the reader in suspense almost all the way. Things which you know at any point in time turns out to actually tell a lot more later on than you can imagine. Because of these books, I suddenly kinda like story books which can also teach you a little history even though the author will sometimes alter some facts to suit the story of lar...

Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now, tataz.
