a very shitty wk
ATEC Stage 1! It was held on Wednesday and Thursday and my crew was suay enough to be involved in crew drills assessment on Thursday. We were tasked to do mounting/dismounting of tank, prep for fire, overturning drill and my worst nightmare, artificial camo! Hai, as I feared, we failed the artificial camo, which almost the whole battalion noes le.
This wk was very tiring b4 the Stage 1 evaluation even started cos the wk started for me on Sunday wif my guard duty, sianz. After tt, on Monday and Tuesday, we were so busy tt I nvr got the chance to really rest enough. On Friday, we had to mount a laser system on our tanks which will b tested during out nxt outfield on Tuesday. We were taught how to mount and use the system in the morn and we spent the whole aftnoon at the veh shed refueling our tanks, mounting the necessary stuff and the laser system lorz.
Well, back to the artificial camo. Hai, as said earlier, being 'promoted' to 24C crew is gd and bad and the bad part is shown here. Sgt William lost his temper during our drill when Alex suggested not to do what he told him to do and Sgt William got angry and blew his top. To achieve recon 1, we need to finish setting up the camo net in 15mins. However, on 14mins, when we realised the net was not evenly distributed and the back of the tank will nt be properly covered, Sgt William made a bad decision to take down the net at the front to redo the net and in the end, we failed lorz. The umpire was telling him tt it was a bad decision cos we could've finished wif a recon 2A timing and wif an error of nt covering the back of the tank, get a recon 2B which is still a pass lorz.
Hai, he made me his gunner cos he got feedback from Sgt Kenny tt I've good working attitude. The thing is, tt is becos I dun challenge their orders mahz, I tend to be a bit more accomodating to them compared to other platoon mates cos I noe they like to be treated wif 'respect' as they're our commanders. Actually I'm also very unhappy wif some stuff which they instruct us to do wanz, jus tt I dun challenge or question their orders lorz. Hai, hafta tolerate Sgt William for 3 more wks, 2 more outfields!!

24C
Well, this wk was another siong wk wif a surprise(not necessarily for the better). Sgt William of 24C proposed to the PC to have his crew changed cos he couldn't work well wif them. So me and Alex are 'promoted' to 24C crew from the spares.
Well, to become 24C crew at this pt in time is gd and bad lorz. First of all, the good thing is tt I won't have to work wif Sgt Kenny for exercises and tt I've managed to avoid having to dig shell-scrapes and setting up triple-con ard tentages in FTX2 and ATEC itself. The obvious bad thing is, having to work wif Sgt William, haha.
Hmm, Sgt William, what of him? He's very rigid and particular abt the way we do things. He demands respect from us lorz, doesn't like us to challenge his orders. Well, I sort of can live wif it larz. We had the chance to work as a crew in the Battalion Skill at Arms and it turned out fine larz, jus tt I have to tolerate wif Sgt William being very keh zhua sometimes. For the first time, I managed to set up the artificial camo for the tank in the specified time required. But the main reason is having a commander who works quietly during the time and doesn't spend too much time complaining and giving lotsa lotsa instructions to his men lorz. The other reason is having dear lao jiao Alex wif us! He's noes all the tricks needed to make it all work out.

FTX 1
FTX 1 (full troop exercise 1) was a chance given to the spare crew by our PC for us to have tt little bit of training in combat exercise so tt our NSF live will not be useless lorz. It was a 3-day outfield from wednesday til friday but we had washing of our a-vehicles to do so we only got to book out today.
Well, I was working wif who else but the spare commander Sgt Kenny lorz, together wif my fellow spare gunner Yuan Sheng who played the role of the tank driver in this exercise. On the whole, the results were disastrous as expected, wif the commander's behaviour, irritating as usual due to his character.
On the first day, we were lucky to be declared down by the umpire and we moved our of camp only 3hrs after the rest of the battalion left the vehicle shed. Me and Yuan Sheng spent the time toking cok on our tank lorz. We talked about a lot of things larz, but I was surprised to find tt he's similar to me in certain little ways lorz. Like me, he also knows tt he behaves differently when mixing ard wif a different crowd, but unlike me initially, he feels that it is alright as he thinks tt's the way he is lorz. I was initially thinking whether it makes me a person wif many faces lorz, a hypocrite in some way. But I've come to accept it and I'm glad there's someone out there who sort of agrees wif me, haha. *bish*
Any way, when we moved out, our 'dear' commander had to topo his way to where our company was setting up laager(duno how it's spelt) area and we were late lorz, his topo skills aren't tt zai. =P At ard 6am the next morn, we moved out again on our 2nd mission and unbelievably, a combination of Sgt Kenny, Yuan Sheng and the tank's non-100% serviceability, the tank was badly damaged and required tech-squad ppl to come to us and repair the tank outfield. It took up most of our day and after which, we joined back wif our coy again at their laager area. This time, we got there on time and Sgt Kenny was pretty pleased wif his topo skill as he told us tt but it was answered by dead silence from me and Yuan Sheng. Hai, if one's topo skills are so zai ar, why would he need to consult ppl along the way right?? He asked at least 3 strangers at different parts along our way lorz. *bish*
Then on the 2nd night, we had to move wif our PC tank to scout the routes we might take for our last mission on Friday morn. He had trouble keeping up wif our PC and he told me to help him shine light on the map while he guided the tank lorz. Hai, the thing is, what's the use? I'm jus a tank gunner lorz, never learnt anything abt topo! I found it very hard to see where we were at the speed we were moving and Sgt Kenny kept asking me whether I could tell where we were. *bish* Up to one point, we lost sight of the PC tank and lost our way and when our PC radioed us, Sgt Kenny told him, "Oh, my driver lost his way..." Goodness me!! That has got to be the lamest reason one can hear lorz. Cos, the tank is guided by the commander mahz, how the hell can the blame be put on the driver who follows instructions?! After our outfield back at the bunks, I heard from the other fellow tankees tt they really laughed when they heard tt lame reason on radio lorz.
On the last day of our FTX, our tank even sank into very soft mud which we couldn't get out of alone lorz. Our PC had to use his tank to tow us out. Hai, I was very seh in the tank in the day, so I not sure what's really happening ard til it happens lorz. From what I guess, it's the commander's fault again! Obviously it is him who guided the tank into the soft sand mahz, right? On the last day, our turrent also chui lorz. Up to mid-day, our turret cannot be depressed and it was locked pointing into the sky lorz, sian diaoz. The pt is, I guess my crew(maybe it's the commander's fault I duno...) is really suay lorz, this is the 2nd time I get to move outfield participating in the exercise as a main crew but once again, our performance was simply too dissapointing to our PC and horrendous in my perspective. Sad case larz...

simply happy
Well, had to book in early in the morn today for training at AGTS as said in my previous entry but today is a great day! Haven't felt so good in a long long time. After booking out of camp, couldn't get in contact wif Yan Ru so I decided to go for lunch alone at Lot 1 mac lorz. Little did I expect to see Sgt Ling and Sgt Samuel coming into mac as I was queuing up to purchase my meal. They offered me to join them for lunch and no harm right, I accepted the invitation. As true to what I heard from those who've gone out wif Sgt Samuel b4, He paid for me and Sgt Ling's meals lorz.
Felt kinda wierd having lunch wif my commanders outside larz, especially when there're certain aspects of their style of management I do not like. But, oh what the hell, we're out of camp so those stuff shud b left back in camp as well! Jus tt din noe how I shud address them larz, haha, call them by their names I'd feel super uncomfortable so for our conversations, I jus skip the addressing part, hehe. After the meal, went down to NUS and joined Yan Ru for her mugging while we wait for dear bro Wen You to arrive larz, he's late as usual, haha, busy man larz, got driving lessons to attend.
While Yan Ru and 2 other of our pa crew seniors were mugging away at the library, I played wif Yan Ru's laptop lorz, what else to do sia. Spent a lot of time organising my contacts list in my main hotmail acct which was in a total mess wif many duplicate contacts of many ppl. Took abt 2hrs deleting and editing them but managed to complete it larz, haha. Jus nice, when I ran out of stuff to do besides reading my bk, Wen You arrived, haha. Well, he has his work to do also, I kinda helped a bit by talking bt some relevant stuff and of course, some cok as well, dun too stress mahz.
While he did his work, Yan Ru buried deep in her revisions, I read my storybk lorz. When nearing 7pm, the seniors decided to go for dinner wif the intention to return to the library to carry on their mugging. They had the luxury of a car so they could go anywhere larz. We couldn't join them cos too many ppl le. We left on our own and after much discussion, we went to the shophouses opposite Beauty World for our dinner! Wah, haven't eaten so well for quite some time le, compared to cookhouse food...phew, what a hell of a difference! At ard 8+pm, we left the place for Coffee Beans at 6th Avenue wif the intention to tok cok but when we were there, we were intro-ed by our dear sis to something called Naruto, haha. I bet it rings a bell in most ppl larz, but I totally duno what it's abt til I saw it lorz. Man, the story sure is interesting sia, the graphics are wonderful too. Guess that'll b my next addiction for a while le, haha.
This is definitely a great way to spend my precious free time outside camp while we're throwing ourselves into the most busy part of my NS life preparing for ATEC and hoping to pass it lorz. Hope time will fly as it usually does larz, it'll all end in late May....

linkin park!
Hmm, finally found a blog skin I like! Haha, what other best theme can there be but Linkin Park. Well, as I make this entry, I'm just abt 10hrs away from being back in camp for some training at the AGTS where we train wif simulators to engage enemies in our 'tanks'. Very bo liao rite, book out for the night at home den back in camp early in the morn the next day. Well, that's SAF, haha. Used to it le so now jus tryin' to enjoy my hours at home wif my computer. =P
This wk was quite siong cos haven't had so much activities everyday for quite a long long time le. We're gearing up for ATEC so we've been doing crew drills at the vehicle shed everyday whenever we have the time lorz. Shagged sia, fell sick on monday and reported sick lorz. Feeling better le but still coughing. *sigh*
On standby once again for a period of 3wks b4 we stand down and take over the infantry-role ntm duty. My birthday will be occuring in the midst of all the outfields but luckily(hopefully stays tt way), it's on the monday when an off-in-lieu is planned for us! Really need a break now sia, not really at the norm level in terms of my current morale(maybe cos I'm sick lar). I wonder if there's anything to look forward to now besides finishing ATEC cos it's still quite far off...

toon implode
History was made yesterday in the EPL. One frequently sees 2 football players from different teams sent off with red cards for fighting or unprofessional behaviour such as trying to strangle the other person, spitting etc. right? But have you ever seen 2 players from the SAME team fighting each other, having to be stopped by players from the 2 teams, resulting in sending off of both of them? Well, my dearest heartbreaking Newcastle has done just tt.
Newcastle put up a simply sub-standard performance against Aston Villa who aren't playing the best of their football and after watching the replay at noon today, I can tell you, O'Brien, Shearer, Jenas(in particular) played real lousy. By the 80th minute, Newcastle was 3-0 down and on an attacking move, off the ball, both of them clashed and the game was stopped. This definitely stunned everyone sia, even Grame Souness. Their behaviour is definitely unacceptable lorz, their sending-off results in them missing the crucial FA Cup tie against Man-U. Being a Newcastle fan, this season is definitely the worst ever in years, with the club experiencing the highs(highest beating Chelsea) and lows(lowest with ard 10 games without a win). Nothing to say lorz, think Newcastle's in deep shit le, dun think they can go all out to win either the FA Cup or Uefa Cup lorz, if they do, must be really lucky le... Disagreements between people working with each other is definitely inavoidable, but we must learn to give-and-take I guess, be tolerant and listen to what others have to say first. Especially when we're rushing for time or haven't had enough rest, we tend to not think with a clear mind and an outsider can offer us views which we might have missed out. The only good thing abt tt incident is tt the players are definitely working their socks off to push the club up the EPL table to a more acceptable standard lorz. Hai.
