unofficial last working day

Well, today is unofficially the last day of my brief stint in NS (yeah, really BRIEF indeed...). Will be clearing my leave+offs which I've accumulated and not cleared in my 2.5yrs, hopefully til my ORD date on 14 March. Nowadays I'm kinda more free from any commitments, zho bo most of the time larz.

Hopefully I can keep to my resolution to play hard now before my uni begins(this part isn't hard to stick to...hehe) and then to study hard for my uni(hopefully NS hasn't worn out the hardworking part in me...lol).

Jus finished reading Order of the Phoenix, Bk 5 of Harry Potter. What else can I say? It's another great bk to read! Can't wait for the movie to be out sia, **WARNING: spoilers comin' up if u haven't read the bk and intend to do so** there's this part near the end with a showdown between he-who-cannot-be-named, Voldermort, and Albus Dumbledore. There's also a 'devastating' revelation in this bk about Harry's fate which also explains why Voldermort is so bent on killing Harry even when he was just a baby. **spoiler ends here**

I only started reading Harry Potter a few mths back and was hoping to carry on the momentum and read Half-blood Prince but the softcover version isn't out yet. It'd better come out fast cos I don't know how long I can withstand the urge to jus buy the hardcover and read it every time I pass by a bookstore.

While I wait patiently(running out of it le...) for bk 6, I'm reading The Lovely Bones. Where did I get the idea to read the bk? From the cover of The Time Traveller's Wife. It says something like, "Here's the next The Lovely Bones...a rare book" - Evening Standard. I assume The Lovely Bones is just as good as The Time Traveller's Wife and I'm glad I bought the book. It's bt this girl who was raped and brutally murdered and while in heaven, looks down upon the people ard her to see how they cope with her death and lead on with their lives. Very interesting...

shear magic!

Yes, yes, my dear beloved Newcastle finally won after picking up 1 of 18 available points in recent EPL matches, easing relegation worries slightly. The highlight will be Shearer's 201st for the club, a historic moment, breaking Wor Jackie Milburn's record.

A fan's favourite all the time, he's plundered lotsa goals on Tyneside, definitely one of the, if not the best centre-forward England had. The only disappointing thing is him failing to lift a trophy at St. James's in front of one of the most passionate and loyal fans in England.

He's a disciplined, professional footballer who's a role model young, uprising stars should learn from. You don't often, if not at all, seen him with bad press. He maintains a boring image in front of the media and stays away from any off-the-pitch problems. A respectable man he is...

HOWAY THE LADS!

souey axed

Yes. If you haven't already heard, the destroyer of Liverpool and Blackburn, following Newcastle recently, has been given the sack. 6 matches without a win and 6pts away from the relegation... I guess the Newcastle chairman, and especially the fans, have tolerated enough of Souness, lol. Yeah, among the choices offered then when Bobby was fired, he was the best option in my opinion... but just to AVOID RELEGATION. Unbelievably the chairman believes he can bring Newcastle to Europe, signing a long-term contract wif him. Now he had to pay him millions to go off. Well, no one knows who's in contention for the Magpies hot seat, knowing the chairman, probably another English will be in the running. We'll see this new chapter of Newcastle's story about to unfold...
