and onto supernatural season 2...
Came across an interesting episode when Dean and Sam were hunting again after their Dad passed away. They turned out to be hunting for vampires, but man, were we in for a surprise. Both brothers were not taking their father's death well so their relationship was kinda strained.
Dean initially was having the mentality that everything they do, hunting for supernatural stuff, is all in "black and white", "supernatural beings" being the "bad guys" and he confessed to Sam at the end of the episode, much to his own shock that he didn't hesitate to kill those "supernatural beings" and he actually felt good even though some of them might have been human beings possessed by demons.
It only dawned on him that there were actually "gray areas" like anything we go through in life, when the vampires Dean was so bent on catching, and while he was discussing where they could possibly hunt with another hunter, Sam gets kidnapped by the vampires, who told him to let them go because they, unlike the normal vampires, don't feed on human blood. (which helps explain the happenings that led Dean and Sam to this town, the "cow mutilations")
This sort of got Dean thinking whether he had killed "innocent" supernatural beings in the past. As he was raised by his father to hate these "things" and he could just kill them in such an unfeeling way. So I guess we must try our best to think before we act (as and when we can) and not let our feelings rule our actions and most importantly, not to think what we're doing is always "right". Just some food for thought, cheers. ;)

asiasoft, supernatural and fantastic 4
Special request from laoda....here's a post ;)
Well, went to meet up with the Asiasoft ppl today, got some small-scale sponsorship from them (better than nothing ar). The meeting was quite an eye-opener, my first with "office ppl" eh, we had some ideas (they nvr tot of) for them to market their games better, they also had some ideas for our camps as well. I was also curious to find out what issit that the companies look out for, what do they hope to gain from sponsoring our events. It helps when we meet them face-to-face, have a simple chit-chat compared to emailing.
Marketing has been shitty as expected, got rejected by almost everyone I sent a proposal to. Maybe it's something to do with the way I go about calling them, but most of the time, I get diverted away from the person I wana speak to by the telephone operator who just throws me an email address and all I can do is email the proposal to the marketing personnel and hope against hope tt he sees from my perspective how the company stands to gain by sponsoring us for the events.
Before the holidays started, I told myself to read up on bio in preparation for nxt sem's LSM1401 since I totally don't have bio backgrd, not even O'lvls. Since late Apr til now, haven't done any reading yet. SLACK! Still no motivation to start sia, zzz. Only read 2 storybks, played lots of Pangya, busy wif marketing, and recently, started watching Supernatural.
Its quite a nice show to watch really, the rivalry, jealousy, envy between Dean and Sam, how they're willing to die for each other, always watching each others' back as they hunt down demons and those supernatural stuff. The way they complement each other is always a pleasure to watch. Dean being a college kid, always the one researching and reading up about how to handle the "monsters" they're about to face, Sam being the tougher one, taking care of his younger brother, usually calm and composed even when in danger. The show is also very funny, full of humour. The kinda lame conversation they have with the monsters before they fight, really cannot take it sometimes, lol. I really love the car Dean drives though, a Chevy '67 Impala. Really hope to find the model kit in future, hoho.
Went to watch Fantastic 4 with Jie Ren and Jeff eh, a spontaneous decision at JP aft they suddenly ask me out to tok cok at JP. Life's kinda boring if everything was properly planned out initially eh? Such surprises are kinda fun to have sometimes. I din even intend to watch the movie in the first place, lol. Well, besides watching Jessica Alba and all that graphics, the plot is crap really. Similar to Spiderman 2, the "bad guy" suicides to save the world (there was nothing the F4 could do to save the world if the Silver Surfer din help). The movie is too different from the comic, according to Jie Ren, so I guess that turns ppl off, particularly those who followed the comic/cartoon in the past.
There wasn't much football to watch aft the EPL ended and this is one of the few yrs w/o World Cup or Euros to watch, so bored to death w/o football on wkend nites! There was the last match of the Spanish La Liga which will decide who wins the title and man, was it exciting to watch Real Madrid play. They were down 1-0 in the 1st half when their title challengers Barca went something like, 3-0 up? They were playing well but couldn't put the ball in the net and their opponents managed to score a goal with only occasional chances. What more to explain than a 65% possession? After some substitutions, they somehow made a fortuitous comeback winning the tie 3-1 and claiming the title.
Results are still on the downhill, hope to make a u-turn nxt sem if possible, looks like on average, I'm a straight B's student in uni at best, hahaha. Gotta work the proper way if i manage to discover it, do a "REAL-move". =P

at the end of the world, the adventure begins
Hmm, did everyone went for the show with too much expectation? Most of my friends who've watched it were disappointed, telling me not to expect too much of it. Well, maybe cos of their advice, I enjoyed the show actually, hahaha. Loved it. (except for some parts which were jus lame and horrible)
The story is too complicated so I'm not gonna tok abt it, hahaha. The main pt abt this show is, everyone keeps betraying everybody else who he/she has made a verbal agreement with, regarding whatsoever matter. Everybody was only acting in his/her own interests but ultimately, the whole situation's progress was all a result of Captain Jack Sparrow's decisions or plans. His flexibility and ingenuity is always a pleasure to watch. Even though his actions are selfish in nature, he's still kind-hearted by nature as can be seen when he hesitated to stab Davy Jones's heart at the critical moment, and how stunned he was to see William Turner get "killed" by Davy Jones.
I felt the best moment when Jack showed his flexibility and outsmarted everyone was at the pirates' gathering when they had to vote for a leader to make a decision for all. Some of the pirates who've been at the previous gathering knew, every one of the nine representatives will vote for himself only and so the action seemed pretty useless besides the fact tt it abides by the book of pirates' law. As they were going down the line with everyone voting for him/herself, when it came to Jack, he voted for Elizabeth (who was representing Chow Yun Fat aft he died and passed on the captaincy to her) knowing she's in favour of the course of action which Jack also wants. He just did not expect Elizabeth to abuse this authority when they were meeting the British navy representatives to "discuss". Elizabeth traded Jack (to Davy Jones, who wanted Jack to pay his debt by serving on the Flying Dutchman) for William, lol.
What a great way to make this 3rd the most spectacular eh, the Black Pearl taking on the Flying Dutchman, 2 of the best ships in the world square off as though there's no tomorrow and after a long time of fighting, things went as Jack had hoped and the 2 ships destroyed the British Navy's main ship along with whoever was leading the navy and the rest of the big navy had to retreat, making it a victory for the pirates in their endeavour for survival.
Well, on the whole, loved the story, loved the twists and turns in the plot, and most of all, loved the gay-ishness of Captain Jack Sparrows! *double thumbsup for Johnny Depp*
