css carnival

Went back to CSS in the morn to help out wif the activities the alumni are involved. As usual, I felt really happy to be back in my sec sch. Me, together wif many others frm my batch, were there to help run the telematch between the diff classes from each level. It was funny to see those young kids(machiam i very old, lolz) get themselves dizzy wif doing the 1st station which is to spin themselves ard a cone for 15 times then do duck walk immediately. Everyone was falling down by the 10th spin ard the cone and they had problems keeping their balance when doing the duck walk immediately aft the 15 spins. Soon after, it was time for the sec2s to play. We made things tougher for them by adding some more stations but they still had lotsa fun =) Too bad I could not stay longer to help out wif the sec3 and sec4 telematches but i'm glad to have helped and finally gotten my alumni tee and card! haha =P

end of course

After the live-firing on Mon, we had to clear the basic main range of our stores which resulted in us only reaching our camp at ard 11pm and me getting to bed only at ard 12.30am...really shagged. Luckily, our sgt very nice allowed us to sleep until 6.15am and have breakfast at 6.30(ppl in our unit usually wake up ard 5.15am). After breakfast, we were allowed to carry on sleeping but expected to fall in at 8am to carry out maintainence at the vehicle shed(where our tanks are parked). When I got there, met Min Yang and chatted for a while b4 carrying on with my work(haha). Me and my tank i/c stripped the main gun and after oiling all the small parts, we had lotsa problem assembling them. We spent the whole morn tryin to solve the problem and was very much slower compared to the other tanks. After lunch, another sgt took over and he, wanting to book out as he had to stay back last night, hurried us along and we managed to 'complete' our servicing of the tanks by 3pm. On Wednesday(yesterday), we had to account for the things tt we keep in our tanks(tools necessary for carrying out maintainence or the operation of our guns on the tank). As usual, it was very hard to find everything tt we drew out from the stores. After much searching done by our sgt, we were made to pay $6 each for the lost items(it only totals up to part of the actual price of all the items we lost, but many were unhappy). Today, we had our course debrief and were posted to our respective companies in 46SAR. I was posted to Bronco(B company) where I wanted to be as I mixed well wif the mono-intake ppl from Bronco. As I've expected, the discipline is very very strict. They are the 'garang' company and everything had to be very gd. I heard from other men tt if we din get gold for our IPPT, we'll have to stay back for RT(remedial training). This also applies to SOC! Hai...this means I'll be prepared to stay for RT on Sat(s) for a long long time...I'm not fit enough to get gold and I've nvr managed this feat in my life! Too bad lorz, fitness is greatly emphasised in 46SAR as we're an active combat unit. Another blow to my wkends comes from the fact tt I'm taking part in the marching for this year's NDP! From this wk onwards, I'll be practising drills at National Stadium on Saturday aftnoons. They say our 'burnt' wkends will be reimbursed later on aft NDP and I've resigned to fate lorz(though I believe it'll be quite an experience marching in front of such a big crowd, haha). Our sgt also say we might be riding in tanks for the NDP the following year. All this is due to the fact tt 46SAR won the best armour unit 03/04. The only consoling thing is tt I get a day-off tomorrow because we were deprived of it the last time the whole unit went for the day-off as the tank gunners were attached to SOA and we were involved in the preparations of SAA(Skill At Arms). I'm satisfactorily happy le lorz =P

unluckily shagged

Jus returned from a PA Crew outing(dinner wif our former teacher-in-charge Mr Yeo), feeling kind of tired. This whole wk has been rather tiring for me. I was training at the simulator centre for the 1st 3 days which wasn't really tiring but the 'shag feeling' came on Thurs cos I had sentry duty from Wed nite to Thurs morn. On Fri, we had some preparations to make for our live-rd shooting the following wk so we had to do stuff like move oil barrels etc etc. As we head back to our unit from outfield, we spilt white paint on the 'tunnel'! To make things worse, as we were reaching our block, we spilt black paint on the parade square! It was terrible. We had to clean up the mess which took us close to 3hrs b4 we went for dinner. After dinner, we had to shift our bunks to the next higher floor as there were contractors there to change the tiles in the bunks. How tiring tt day was. As for today(Sat), we had to make sure all the required equipment were loaded onto the tanks. It was disappointing as a lot of things were missing and the commanders had a hard time coordinating the work as all of us and morale was rather low(staying in-camp til so late on Sat!). As the day dragged on, our movements became rather sloppy. Our commander also had a hard time trying to think of where to get the required stuff to replace the missing ones. When the trainees left camp at ard 6pm, we left our poor commander behind wif much work left uncompleted. I really pity him as he has jus gotten married but doesn't have much time to spend wif his wife...the worse thing is tt he's going overseas to study in abt a mth's time! Even though I understand the importance of NS for Singapore guys, I really wonder if the pros outweigh the cons for every individual guy...

b-day!

As I'll be booking in 2nite at 10pm(means leaving home at ard 8.45pm), my parents celebrated my b-day last night(aft 12am) wif a chocolate cake. We went to Orchard in the aftnoon for a meal and it took us ard 1/2hr b4 finding a nice place to have a western meal. Aft tt, my parents went shopping at Tangs while me and my bro went to borders to buy some bks(cos I wan to read some bks during my free time in-camp). Aft looking ard for abt an hr, I bought 2 self-help books cos I hope to improve myself in other aspects of my life besides studies lorz...haha. Then on the way home, we stopped by at the market as my parents went to buy 4D. I looked at the rates for betting on football and saw very very gd rates for the opposing team playing Newcastle 2nite. As I din want to 'betray' my beloved Newcastle, I bet on Fulham winning Arsenal instead(cos I used to hate Arsenal, not so much anymore). Hopefully luck will be on my side 2nite!

armour family day

It's Armour Family Day! Haha, we were to gather at Sentosa in the aftnoon for a day of fun and enjoyment at Tanjong Beach. It was interesting to see all the commanders wearing shirts and shorts wif slippers/sandals(everyone looks the same unlike in camp when everyone is well-differentiated by their ranks on the sleeves). I was there early and walked all over the beach(it's not very big) looking for my sergeant to report to. Got to meet some of my frens who were posted to other armour units but nvr got to meet each other in camp. By the time every tank gunner has gathered wif the sergeant, it was already 4pm. Luckily, very kind and understanding of the sergeant, he told us 'attendance' has been taken and where we go was none of his concern already. I took the hint and b4 long, was on the way back home. Recently there have been a few new songs up in the charts which are very nice and the typical kind of slow rock songs we used to hear in the past. One particular song I like very much is The Reason by Hoobastank. U guys might wana check it out.
