a (not so short after all) painful short week

We booked in last wkend wif the knowledge that we'll be booking out on wed nite for an off-in-lieu on thurs and to celebrate 3rd div's annniversary on fri at yishun safra. Everyone was high on morale all the while knowing it was going to be a short wk. Little did we know how slow this wk turned out to be due to our high expectations I guess.

On mon, we started our 1.5-day course on chemical defence where we learn how to wear those thick hot suits defending us from biological & chemical warfare agents. Initially we expected it to be relaxing since it's a lect but we din expect to have to do practical as well! Really wonder how we can work in the fields under the hot sun in such suits as they're really very hot to wear. We spent the whole day learning and practising how to wear the suits in double-quick time so as to survive shud there be a sudden attack lorz.

On tues, most of us went for the tear gas practise where one has to go into an enclosed space wif our suits on so as to test whether we wear it properly. Of course, tear gas is released into the rm and if ur suit isn't properly worn, u'll cry lorz...lol. You'll also be asked to do some exercises which stretches ur suit to test if u've worn it properly larz. But at the end of the practise, one will be instructed to take off the mask to get a first-hand experience of what tear gas is like if u're exposed to it. You'll be asked to state ur rank, name and nric number wif tear gas lingering all ard your face. I'm spared the torture cos I'm asthmatic lorz, so I din go wif them and stayed back in camp instead. The commanders of course, had sai kang for us to do larz. Those who din go for the practice stayed back to help clean the whole coy's signals stores. That's ultimate boredom man, we cleaned them the whole morn and aftnoon and haven't finished even by evening time when they returned. Very nice of the sgt taking charge of us, he risked signing extra by taking us to canteen break for our dinner instead of going to the cookhouse to eat the usual usually sucky food lorz.

Yesterday, we were suddenly confronted wif the information that our weapons which we sent in after our outfield recently has been failed by the armourer. We had to draw our weapons out to clean them again lorz. We also had a tank to be cleaned up b4 returning it to another unit whom we've borrowed from. Everyone thought our machine guns also failed and were worried we won't be booking out since it might not be possible for us to clean them to a good standard in such short time (which turned out to be the case...). However, we din get to bk out yesterday becos of other reasons which is another long story to tell but I'm lazy to tell larz...hehe.

Well, will be visiting my granddad at the hospital later le...hai....he's fallen really really ill again. Hasn't been feeling well all this while but he's unwilling to go to the hospital cos he wants to stay at home more often as his time MIGHT be up le *sigh*
