good old matt

Heh, good old Matt back in S'pore for about 9 days, how could I reject him when he was available to meet me at NUS rite? It's been months since the 4 of us met up for a dinner just before Matt left a few months ago. Had lunch wif him at Grinning Gecko and man, he's still the same as ever. Outspoken, loud and seems to be enjoying life in the States. To think he was here mainly for his gf, how sweet, unless I heard wrongly. *shrug* (crap, should've taken a pic wif him or something)

Well, I seem to be still the same to him, which he says is probably a good thing (I wonder why, lol). Our chat sorta brought things into perspective and made me realise how different the four of us are (Matt, Kenneth, Hui Jian and me). Be it in terms of personality, interests, our goals and stuff, our studies, very very different. I wonder how the hell we came together as a clique back in JC days eh. I guess it's cos we're slightly different from those "cool guys" type like Jerry, Remus, Peck Teng and gang eh.

Well, Hui Jian still seems to be a strange person to me, haha. I'm sure it kinda saddens Matt to hear tt the 3 of us nvr met up even though we're all still in S'pore eh. He can't meet us since he's in the States mahz, lol. Was kinda surprised he bothered to contact me and wana meet up really. He's living life to the fullest, earning big bucks (he's already rich btw, lol), doing well in studies and doing stuff he can't possibly do in S'pore.(like snowboarding, and he's gonna try out sky diving soon i think)

Kenneth seems to be dying wif the workload wif Law, nvr chat wif him for quite some time too. And good old Hui Jian, in love wif a gal who's attached. He seems to be leading a complicated life all the time, but the sure thing is he's smart :) Sometimes I kinda wonder whether I'm not ambitious enough. Used to really hope to jus lead a normal life (normal is kinda subjective of course)... sometimes when you think too much, the what-ifs tend to be limitless... hmm... "You should start thinking of investments", "You should break out of your comfort zone" so says Matt...

I guess I'm still jus uncertain as to what I really want, been thinking abt it all along the moment I entered Army and had to decide what course to pursue in uni, but the spark jus hasn't ignited... Hopefully things can get clearer nxt sem when I start engaging in a lot more Chem Eng modules (the really relevant stuff) unlike this sem when they're all jus seem like prepartory modules wif little relevance 'cept maybe CN1111...not like I'm doing as well as I hoped to lar, hehe =P

Recently was chatting wif Jeff and man, did he make a good point. We asked him how it works out so perfectly between him and Wenli... both are sooooo busy wif their own stuff, but their relationship is simply rock-solid. Most probably the first couple to get married in my opinion, hehe.

Taking the discussion further than jus relationship, even after getting married, wat else is there in common besides the child? Both still do the same work, each still have the same grp of friends, whether there's overlapping is not impt of course. He mentions abt it being the blending of 2 seperate lives together instead of adjusting to suit which I pretty much agree though I feel slight adjustments are definitely necessary lar, haha. A very gd new pointer I've nvr heard of before... ;)

*back to reality wif a "THUD"* Now to get busy wif mugging for the exams le. 3 wks to go. Hope there's a chance of redemption, hehe. Gd luck to all!

long update =P

Seemed ages ago when I last updated my blog eh, tsk tsk. Bo bian, life's been kinda a drag with just a month away from the final exams, still lost in translation for almost all my modules. Currently only enjoying my EC1301 which is kinda hard to score well cos everyone is so damn zai scoring very high marks in the tests. CM and CN are kinda cui, core mods somemore, zzz...

Had a wonderful meal wif my good old buddies Wenyou, Jefferson, Yanru and Vivian (last wkend) at where else but Waraku again! This is the 3rd time I'm eating there in the past year, hahaha, still like the place eh, will go again if i can, muahaha. Here's the only grp photo we took tt day, took a lot of pics of the food but, no pt uploading here lar, haha.

That outing sure up-ed my rather down mood for this sem so far eh. Had a few wonderful chats wif them, particularly that nite, but also another 2 times in sch while "mugging" wif Jeff and Yanru in sch ("mugging" cos we sorta chatted quite a lot, haha, got quite a bit of catching up to do mahz).

Everyone's so busy wif their own stuff now eh, Wenyou involved in a whole load of shit (quoted from him, dun misunderstand me...), Jeff in his final sem busy wif FYP, Yanru, finally gearing up to study for final exams and the rest of the time wif her wonderful bf and Vivian in her IA. So any frens out there at NUS feel like having lunch wif me or something, pls call! If we dun eat now, once we start work we may never have the luxury on wkdays le! (machiam a lot of ppl wana eat wif me lidat rite...lol) The rest were so busy tt only I had time to go watch a movie wif Vivian earlier in the evening.

We initially intended to watch The Live of Others lar, but kns The Cathay only had it as midnight show and we took our chance with Pathfinder which according to duno which fren of Viv's was nice. Quite a risky move since both of us din noe what it was abt... We looked ard near the ticketing booth but there weren't any posters for it. We only saw a standing cardboard kinda thing (duno wat it's called lar) wif jus the the tagline: Two worlds, One war. The Ultimate Battle Begins. It turned out to be a nice fantasy show, which I was surprised, only got a rating of 5.something at imdb.com (checked it when I got home). Lazy to tok bt the story also, go find it on imdb.com if you like, it's a can-watch show. I give it 3 out of 5 popcorns. :)
