not long not short wk

I'm back! A very siong wk has passed and am really glad to be home and to go see my grandpa who's hospitalised again. This time is even worse le, in ICU. Have to wait and see larz...

I returned back to camp on sunday aft my 1wk bloc leave and wow, what a way to re-kickstart my NS life aft almost 1mth of exile. We were greeted wif bad news tt we needa get a tank up and running by the end of the wk cos a-coy is using it this coming monday. There were lotsa lotsa faults to be remedied and man, the news was demoralising. If we can't get the tank up by friday, our saturday will be burnt. If it still isn't ready on saturday, our sunday will be burnt!

The worst thing abt servicing is waiting for the technicians to give us instructions or for them to do their part in the servicing or to wait for them to help us get the stuff and tools we need to carry on wif our work lorz.

On tuesday, there was unhappiness brewing once again. Our PC appeared in the aftnoon at the vehicle shed telling us we've nights off(our decision whether to go or not) tt night lorz. Tt brought our morale up a bit since our saturday might be burnt. We serviced our tank in the aftnoon and by 5.45pm, much to our unhappiness, we were waiting for the tech sqd spec to see if there's still stuff for us to do. Surprisingly, suddenly we're nt the ones deciding whether we're going for nights off lorz. By 6.15pm, he confirmed there was nothing more we could do tt night and he allowed us to go. We finished our dinner(a bit slowly larz, shagged mahz) den our sgt reprimanded us for taking our own sweet time even though we're bking out lorz. When we reached coy-line, he said those who wana bk out had 10mins to go up, get changed and fall in for nights off lorz. Everyone wanted to bathe properly since we've been servicing our tank the whole day and we're quite smelly wif sweat lorz. In the end, only 1 of us, Kok Wee booked out. The rest of us stayed in bunk and tok cok until the whole coy returned for RO lorz, haha.

It was really a tan2 tian1 shuo1 di4 night lorz. We talked bt lotsa stuff. My platoon mates told us bt their experiences in an all-boys sch since I came from mixed sch. I was telling them bt my bad experience wif guys from all-boys sch during my jc time lorz. I had 2 friends from Cat. High who happens to be my best friends in jc time but they behave in a 'pervert' manner sometimes lorz, buay tahan larz. We also discussed abt religion, about SOKA(duno whether it's spelt this way...) in particular, tt jap religion. Den we talked abt the most interesting scenerio...what if one day u were walking alone at a shopping centre then u see ur girlfriend walking in the opposite direction towards u, wif a guy? The funniest response we got was to stop in front of a shop, act like window shopping, den call her hp, ask her where she is and who she's wif, see if she's lying...lol...very drama rite? The thing abt this situation is tt if u continue walking towards her, how do u react? Acknowledge seeing her silently? Approach her? Haha, duno how also, if it happens then I might think abt it...hehe =P

Yah, back to servicing(haha). There's this slight problem wif our platoon which I'm very disappointed in lorz. The ppl all very buay zi3 dong3 lorz, hai. When asking for volunteers, no one does. They'll only work when asked to. Cos of tt, I've started to tell myself not to be so zi3 dong3 lorz, very unfair to myself and some others larz, everytime bao1 shan1 bao1 hai3 wif some of those who also volunteer regularly, very sian wan lehz. I bet someday I'll explode at them lorz, somemore this wk I kana platoon ic... Like my buddy said, someone has to do it sometime lorz, and I think tt person has to be the 'bad guy' to do so. Very jialat larz, no one has blown his top so far lorz. Wonder what will happen when tt day comes larz...

During the servicing yesterday(thurs), it was raining rather heavily in the aftnoon. When the tank drivers needed a tool for removing a wheel, I had to run to the building across to get it. I ran in the rain and when I reached them, I realised tt I've lost an important part of the tool lorz, sian diaoz. Luckily they had extras which they used larz, but am really disappointed wif myself for losing it lorz. They're doing stock-taking these days and hai, we've lost another item! I've always been very careless since young lorz. Have lost lotsa things whether expensive or cheap. I've lost 2 hps during my sec sch days. I've even lost my helmet jus 1mth back...had to get a new one at $160!! xin1 tong4 sia...Carelessness is my ultimate weakness and I believe it'll be the cause of my greatest downfall lorz...hai~

the incredibles

Went to watch the show at JP wif Jennifer and Qiu Jie. A very good show...haha...up to my expectations of pixar animations...very funny...it's abt this family all wif super powers. The father and mother, are retired heroes Mr Incredible and Elastigirl. They got married aft the super heroes are banned from being super heroes and settled down being a 'normal' family. Mr Incredible offended a kid who was a great fan of him when he was famous in the city cos he din wan to accept the kid as a sidekick and the kid returned for 'revenge' of some sort larz. He created a robot to attack the city and attempted to act as though he's the saviour by coming to save the city as a superhero lorz. In the end they needed The Incredibles to help save the day larz...haha. For me, I thought funniest part was abt Mr Incredible and Elastigirl behaving like uncle and aunty after being retired as superheroes and having children lorz, lol. A mus watch, I shan't tell too much...=P

the forgotten

Home for the wkend and actually had to bk in 2nite at 2230hrs for guard duty tml but they told me I wasn't needed at the last minute b4 I booked out last nite(phew~). Went to watch The Forgotten wif my platoon mates Yuan Sheng and Cheng Hon. The show is not excellent but not bad also larz...the story's bt this lady who keeps claiming tt she had a child who died at 9 in an airplane crash jus 14mths back. The movie started wif her seeing a psychiatrist cos she has 'mental problems' and her husband also telling her tt the child is 'her own imagination', tt she had a miscarriage during her pregnancy. It turns out the truth is tt she's the only one who could remember losing her child tt time. The rest of the world has had their memories of tt incident erased(imagine...even the newspaper reports then have also been erased...what could possess such power?). She manages to find another guy who's lost his daughter but forgets abt the incident and helps him recall. Together, they work towards finding their children lorz. While trying to find their children, they were being chased by the NSA(national security agency) and so u can also figure out tt they have something to do wif it. Only until after the midpart of the show, den we know tt they aren't the mastermind behind it but jus assisting. It is something of higher being than humans lorz(sian diao rite...) In the end I find the show quite funny lorz, cos these ppl tt disappear...there was one who was 'taken away' right in front of the protagonist's eyes lorz. You see the person facing the camera talking to the main character then suddenly she gets sucked into the sky far far away den disappear le(lol...reminds me of how Team Rocket always disappear in every episode of Pokemon...exactly the same scene...) Will be catching The Incredibles tml wif Qiu Jie and Jennifer, hopefully it is more up to expectations...haha...

xin tong *sigh*

Hai, why xin tong? Xin tong for my dearest Newcastle United larz. 2 back to back thrashings (5-1 and then 3-1) at St. James' Park. Both of which are the few matches I got to watch. The players worked hard for the games, there were nice attacking moves, but there was a lack of luck in front of goal and many chances were never converted into goals.

Like a comment I read, quoted from 1 of the Newcastle players, "By stats, we had 20 shots on target. But on papers, Newcastle lost 5-1." Of course, the defenders have a responsibility in the results as well. The backline which is changed very often aren't settled down and lotsa loop holes appear during the matches for opponents to take advantage of, sad case. Another factor contributing to the defeats is the drop in form of both the keepers, Given and Harper. Some of the goals were the result of mistakes committed by both of them.

In the Man Utd game yesterday, the visitors dominated for abt 20mins but aft tt, Newcastle woke up and played rather fine for a long spell but both strikers Shearer and Kluivert missed from a few good chances. Kluivert's performance yesterday was terrible and while Bowyer performed well, he got substituted in the 2nd half which I tot was a terrible decision on Souness's part. I don't totally agree wif Souness's team selection and thus, the manager also has a part to play in the defeats.

So as you can see, Newcastle's now in a terrible run of bad form wif most of the players not performing to standard, lack of quality in the defence, lack of confidence and morale in the youngsters maybe except Bellamy who's been in fine form recently. His fine form wasn't put to good use cos he's played in the left midfield position(nt the best for him).

Only football fans will understand my feelings larz. Really felt like crying when I watched my team play Man Utd yesterday lorz. The players put in the effort but they're doing all the wrong things! Xin tong...xin tong...

finally a day out!

My bloc leave is coming to an end soon and finally I have something to do out of home! Been at home for most of the wk cos no one asked me out and I duno what to do outside as well. Very kind of Ziyang to sms me early in the morn asking me to go play bball at nj, very touched, haha. He wanted us there at 11am but I only woke up and received the msg at 10.30am. I rushed there aft breakfast and managed to reach there at 12.15pm together wif Jie Ren who I met on the bus along the way. Ppl who were ard...Wen You, Jie Ren, Yitong, Ziyang, Hua Cheng(super zai sia, got a'lvls still come along...) and Jeff+Choon Fatt joined us at LAN later on.

Too bad larz, I only got to play bball for a while(but it's alright, ha) and aft relaxing at the canteen for a while, we went to Coro for lunch at Prince. Den we went to this place called Park Lane(nvr heard of or been there in my life) to play LAN. We played DOTA(defenders of the something, can't recall) which I've nvr played b4 but it was fun! The only disappointing thing abt the game is tt in order to excel, u've gotta be very timid(ham chi as they said). Whenever ur character is abt to lose all his HP(tt means abt to die), the only wise thing to do is retreat. Sian lorz, cos when playing games I usually prefer to chiong. I mean, what's there to worry since u dun really literally die from it rite? We also played Battlefield Vietnam. Well, most of them more lao chiao than me in the game so I was the lousiest larz, but still had a lot of fun, haha. It's always good to be playing wif ppl u noe larz, more understanding, accomodating...

I always feel good having a lot of ppl I noe ard me and tt's when I'll be more 'noisy' lorz. Usually when I'm wif ppl I duno very well(doesn't mean totally duno), I'm more quiet and will keep to myself. I treat ppl the way they treat me and tt's when I realise, won't many ppl think very differently of me? A guy of many faces? I wonder if it would seem very artificial to my friends cos for me, this is natural. If ppl treat me well and tok to me often, I'll do the same lorz, initiating chats and stuff. If ppl nvr tok to me wanz, such as the act cool type, I'll also treat them tt way lorz, they dun tok to me, I won't bother to initiate a chat either, haha. I only suan ppl who suan me but this is no big deal cos it's all jus for fun and irritating ppl in a cheeky manner =)

I remembered making an 'enemy' when I was in sec2. I was in charge of the class aft recess time when the whole class has to line up and remain quiet b4 they're dismissed back to their classes(very childish arrangement horz? I also forgot why they did tt le). There was this particular girl who's always very noisy and incoorperative...class monitor somemore, cmi... Really dislike her larz, her character wasn't the good type mahz. She doesn't like me very much either. I'm always cold and harsh to her wanz, haha. Things cooled off when I wasn't in charge of the class anymore but she noes I dun like her. Den in sec3 when I was already the VP, there was 1 occasion she somehow got the chance to tok to me, she very openly asked me, "ni3 hen2 tao3 yan4 wo3 horz?" Man, that was really funny lorz, what u expect me to say? By then I din really hate her tt much larz, so I said something like "ok larz, na2 li3 hui4". I'll smile whenever I recall tt incident lorz, buay tahan.

So all in all, interesting to note tt I behave differently when I'm wif my parents, wif my grandparents, wif my army frens, wif guys only or wif gals as well. Sounds siong ar?

mcfly - obviously

Recently I've been,
Hopelessly reaching
Out for this girl,
Who's out of this world.
Believe me.

She's got a boyfriend
He drives her round the bend
Cos he's 23
He's in the marines
He'd kill me

For so many nights now
I find myself thinking about her now.

*CHORUS
'Cos obviously,
She's out of my league
But how can I win
She keeps draggin' me in and
I know I never will be good enough for her.
No, no
Never will be good enough for her.
*

Gotta escape now
Get on a plane now, yeah
Off to L.A and that's where I'll stay, for two years.

I'll put it behind me(I'll put it behind me)
Go to a place where she can't find me, yeah

*CHORUS*

She's out of my head
And I never know where I stand
Cos I know I'm not good enough for her
He's good enough for her (for her, for her)

->cute lyrics isn't it? =)

hmm...too easy-going ar?

The Path Of Least Resistance
D:

You take the Path of
Least Resistance.

Why make things hard for yourself? You are a
go-with-flow sort of person and
little gets to you. Why? Because it's all good,
right? They say the path of
least resistance is a straight line and that's
where you go, ever forward and
never looking back. It's good to keep the past
behind you, a quality far too
little people have these days. You know the past is
the past, but don't let
yourself forget it. You can't learn from your
mistakes if you don't remember
them. You're probably loved for your laid-back
frame of mind and easy-going
qualities , but you tend take the easy way out in
life and verge on lazy. Great
character is found through great challenges. You
most likely have the abilities
in you to succeed and over-come what life throws at
you. You just got get up and
face that challenge. You tend to lose your head in
bad situations because you
aren't used to them. And by the time you've found
the easiest way to master a
problem, you could've already taken care of it. Bad
things happen, difficult
situations come up, that's life. What matters is
that you rise to face those
challenges and you can do it. Never lose your
laid-back qualities as they will
help you greatly. Just step onto that hard road
every once in awhile and you'll
discover that with each stretch it becomes easier
and easier to over-come life's
hurdles.

3 wks gone jus like that

The beginning of this wk marks the end of the Wallaby trip for my battalion and I've heard we've passed the test and are now operationally ready(tt is ready for war lorz). I bet it was a great experience for those who went. Luckily I made the right decision not to go lorz...grandpa warded into ICA jus the last wk...how close was tt!? I wonder how things would've been if I was in Australia lorz.

Anyway, this 3wks was generally enjoyable as we got more priveleges since the whole battalion was away. We get to go to the canteen(non-NS ppl mus b wondering wat's so big deal bt it rite...well, the one we go to for our 3meals is known as 'cookhouse' so the 'canteen' is one tt sells better tasting food which we of course have to pay for larz). At night aft dinner when we've our free-time, we were also allowed to go to the Enlistee's Mess where we watched TV and played Risk wif ppl from other companies. Ppl who know me well will know tt I'm not one for chi serial dramas lorz, but these 3wks wif the free-time in the night, and wif the 'jio-ing' and much convincing of my friends, I went along to catch The Champion wif them lorz, lol, all the eye-candies which teens would like to see.

The great experience I had these 3wks was getting to interact wif fellow AIs from our company and knowing them better lorz. Cos as tankees, we were attached out to Scorpion Company for a long time for training on tank stuff and only came back to Bronco Company ard 2mths ago. Thus our programme is usually different from the AIs and we nvr do things together. One of them had access to 2 guitars from his platoon and these 3wks, I also had the chance to play the guitar lorz, more time to practise and I can now play my fav song better(still very lousy but better larz, haha). However, the main reason I can play my song better is cos I finally decided to sub a chord tt's very hard to play wif a simpler one though it doesn't sound exactly the same. Tt way I can play as fast as I shud sing lorz, not like in the past, had to sing slower and sometimes stop to allow me to finger the right chords b4 playing..hehe.

Am now on bloc leave for this wk, returning to camp only nxt monday nite. Hopefully I do not get any calls from my commanders or the company line lorz, if so, I'd have to return to camp. Once I return back to camp, hai, hell is back lorz, there'll be lotsa stores to move and clean and return blah blah blah, we'll b preparing for our 4NTM when we still can bk out but will have to report back in camp within 4hrs of notice(they'll page for us all over the media lorz, tv, radio, newspapers...). Only one word to describe my feelings bt them lorz, SIAN. Hopefully it doesn't clash wif my sec4 class chalet lorz, missed it last yr due to family going overseas =P

chelsea

I jus watched a 'beautiful'(Everton's tactics spoil the beauty of football larz, can't really blame them though) game of football between 2nd-placed Chelsea and over-performing 3rd-placed Everton. Chelsea eventually snatched a narrow win courtesy of the super-duper 'Robin'(Robben)!

Chelsea's play is simply outstanding and is very 'stifling' for the opponent. On their good days(which is most of the time...haha), their possession of the ball in the game can be very very irritating for the opponents as it's very hard to win the ball from them. People who do not watch football matches but keep themselves abreast of news from the football world might wonder why Chelsea score very often and perform so well in Champions League matches(where world-class teams are) but always scrap their wins in EPL matches. Well, the ans lies wif the tactics of their opponents lorz.

In Champions League, the world-class teams usually play to win matches and thus, they play attacking football(most of the time larz). In the EPL however, most of the teams know it is almost 'impossible' to beat Chelsea and thus, they play defensive football and defend very very deep(meaning tt majority of the players stay in their half of the pitch most of the time and only 1 striker stays upfront for counter attacks). Therefore, it is very hard for Chelsea to play in EPL matches but u can imagine the kind of quality they have since they can still win many matches in EPL.

Lucky for them, Robben's return to the first XI from injury coincides wif the injury of striker Drogba and furthermore, Robben returns wif a BANG. He's scored 2 crucial winners in a few matches so far for Chelsea and I bet the manager couldn't be more pleased wif his consistent performance. Man Utd's era of reigning the EPL has come to an end and it was supposed to be Arsenal's era but I wonder if Chelsea can steal it away from the gunners...hmm...

good news awaiting..

Jus returned back from camp to receive quite a few gd news but the most relieving one is tt my grandpa is out of the ICA(i said ICU to lessen confusion) and now in a normal ward. Haven't gone to see him so I can't really determine how he really is from the little stuff my family members told me of his behaviour. Special thanx to laur and jen for the little words of encouragement(correct word to use?).

The other good news, is my dearest Newcastle Utd beating another ulu team 2-0 in the Uefa Cup match played early this morn(lol, this doesn't interest any of the readers of my blog I believe...). Sad case, actually intended to rush home to watch the match replay at 6.30pm (I could've made it) but my whole family is out, my parents working and the rest who're free are at the hospital visiting my grandpa. So I had to wander ard a bit to burn time but I still reached my void deck at 7pm(started reading straits times). Got a phone call at ard 8pm from my bro telling me to help them buy dinner as they're on their way back lorz, missed the match replay le but forget it lorz, ha.

I can still remember the 1st nite this wk when I was back in camp. At ard 10pm, my hp rang(I keep my hp on at all times in case of emergency...u noe...) and I got the shock of my life sia. When I managed to read the display of my phone, to my great relieve, it's my good buddy Kenneth who called(phew~). Well, he's called me to chat a few times this wk in the nite, which was greatly appreciated lorz, cos like him, can't deny tt we sometimes feel lonely lorz, ha. For me, can't figure out why larz, somehow I can't seem to connect wif my platoon mates as much or well as my buddies back in school days. Can chat very openly any stuff I wana tok abt wif my good buddies but wif my campmates, it's not totally the case lorz...
