rotting away

Thought I should do something useful during the holis, haha. Initially I was thinking maybe I should pick up Adobe Flash or something but it occurred to me that there's no point in it really unless I'm intending to use it almost immediately. So what if I read the book and try the prog out at the same time? Will I remember the intricacies of using the prog after I've returned the book to the lib and decided to use it later on? Nope. I chanced upon a Photoshop tut on designing the banner that I have now and yep, I guess I could do something like change my blog interface again, lol. Anyway, I've added a link to The Hunger Site which claims to donate 1.1 cup of rice for every click on their website to the needy, distributed by the Mercy Corps etc. Got all this info from their site, dun ask me anything about it, hahaha, no harm clicking rite!

Went to watch The Kingdom with Min Yang and Yong Yun today. Its a nice action movie with a not-bad plot. The 4 main characters are FBI SPECIAL Agents, gotta emphasise SPECIAL cos I always find it humorous when they say, "Hi I'm SPECIAL Agent Fleury, this is SPECIAL Agent blah blah..." Makes me wonder... are there Normal Agents in the FBI? What's the diff?

Well, back to topic. They've been sent into Saudi Arabia, without permission, and much to the unhappiness and reluctance of the US government (political reasons of course), to investigate and perhaps capture the culprit who committed a terrorist double attack on a special zone in the country referred to as The Kingdom where Americans live in, under protection by Saudi army and police forces. One of the close friends of the 4 main characters, also an FBI Agent, was killed in the 2nd bombing and thus, the main characters were also partly driven by vengence.

The Saudi's weren't coorperative initially, skeptical about what the 4 FBI agents have to offer but with the help of a Saudi army officer who was also bent on catching the culprit, they managed to render their expertise and help out the Saudi's. With some luck (I shan't emphasise), they managed to find the mastermind behind the attack. I give it 4 out of 5 popcorns.

Well, I'll be making a family trip to Taiwan next Tues so will be packing my stuff this wk, ha. A good break from studies I'm sure, but too bad will be missing out on the CSS Prom, my 1st and last involvement in Alumni activities! Man, I've been missing out cos of family trips, won't even get my last chance, zzz.

dinner and lunch!

It was dinner at Tony Roma's last night with my lecture khaki ladies since Daniel wasn't free, and lunch at a Jap restaurant at Jurong Bird Park courtesy of Daniel's driving, tsktsk. These are my first outings wif friends after exams for this holi's, hope there're more to come since its a pretty short break and I'll b out of Singapore for a week!

The ribs at Tony Roma's was really nice and to our surprise, my order of chicken came wif chicken rice which was really quite nice too. It was then shopping wif the ladies and we ended up buying some stuff at Candy Empire at Millenia Walk, haven't been there since my grandpa brought me there after its opening years ago, now I know where we can rot, at the coffee chains there since its kinda "deserted" unlike the coffee chains at Suntec or Marina Sq.

Well, then came the lunch today which I was notified about when I woke up, hahaha. The food was not bad, the service was gd. My green tea was constantly replenished, din have a chance to finish it. :)

Then it was shopping again at JP much to my delight of course, it was all jus window shopping though, none of us looking to buy something in particular. Well, the ladies will be returning home for the holi's before the new sch term starts again, hope they enjoy it!
