nostalgia
A short and shagged wk has finally come to a rather lucky end for me. Most of my platoon mates find themselves having to book in tml while I only have to do so on Sunday late-morn. The main crew gunners and all drivers have live-firing on Sunday which leaves the spare crew gunners, 3 of us only, to 'bao' the guard duties this wkend, leaving our lao-jiao Alex untouched. =)
The main highlight of the wk was my guard duty on wednesday. I had the chance to perform the duty wif my ex-sec schmate Wei Tao. We had a lot of time so we chatted while we were on duty and awake(since it was dark at night, too dark for me to read my storybk, all we could do during our rest time was sleep larz, we were very tired anyway...). Chatting wif him really brings back many fond memories of my upper-sec days!
The most memorable thing was the whole of 4/1 making chocolates as our CIP proj for Valentine's Day. We came back to sch on Saturday and Sunday to make our chocolates so that they are still the most fresh when we deliver them during the upcoming wk. We offered free deliveries allowing ppl to send those chocolates to their loved ones in other classes wif messages attached to the boxes. It was hardwork for us sia, the recipe courtesy of Clarabelle. The difficult part was making the spearmint flavour in the chocolates(or wat flavour was it? =P). We mixed a number of stuff before beating them in a large bowl until the mixture becomes sticky. Then we make little 'balls of spearmint' which we dipped into a chocolate mixture made by melting huge blocks(at least 1kg each lorz, lol). We managed to finish only less than 20% of our orders on Saturday and we rushed thru' the whole of Sunday finishing the rest. Since our form teacher was our maths teacher, she postponed the datelines of our maths homewk lorz, lol. =P
Another major event was our skit(issit spelt this way?) during Racial Harmony Day when we were in Sec3. Our performance was based on the story of Maria Hertough(duno how to spell her surname...), a caucasian adopted and taken care of in a Malay community I think... In order to prep ourselves for the skit wif a tight schedule, we had a class overnight camp in school on a wkend from Saturday to Sunday. It was really fun sia, had only a few rehearsals lorz, had lotsa fun instead. That was when I learnt how to play that bo-liao simple song on the piano from Wei Tao and Clarabelle. They even brought in durians late in the night, haha. In that skit, I played someone who was fighting and kana killed, lol. Then 3 of my classmates had to kneel beside me and mourn...one of them, Xiao Tao, after that skit, keep calling me 'ah gong' le(cos during the skit, she'd say something like 'ah gong, dun die...dun die...'). Ha, everytime she call me tt ar, feel super duper old sia. At the end of the skit, we even had to sing a song to the tune of 'We Are One' by Westlife wif the lyrics cleverly edited by my classmates.
We also talked about who we have not met for long long time le, esp those who do not come for our annual class outings, Wei Tao himself being one of those...haha. How I miss those days! Really had lotsa fun staying back late for CCAs, though I used to hate it initially cos I hardworking wanz, always pia finish all homework at all cost, resulting in very little sleep during wkdays. Thinking bt it now, it was really enjoyable unlike life now lorz, ha. Had a lot of good/close friends ard all the time to share your thoughts wif. When we were talking during our duty, man, suddenly felt both happy and sad sia. It was a really good feeling I haven't had in a long long long time...he felt the same as well.
