simply hate them!

It's been quite a while since I last updated my blog, like Hui Xian reminded me. Oh well, there wasn't much activity in my life recently which I feel like tokin' bt mahz, but well, I'm back!

Jus got home from camp lorz. I'm currently on my conversion course learning the ropes of a tank driver(me a tank gunner). This cross training facilitates the tank commander more flexibility and the tank gunners will be able to deputise the tank drivers should they be unavailable or need rest during super-long distance driving. It's a 2wk course and ends this coming wk. Yesterday was the 1st of our 4 outfields(1 day each) and man, it was fun! My buddy was saying we find it very fun cos we're tank gunners mahz, but I don't fully agree lorz. I always felt tt driving the tank will be more fun but it comes wif a very very heavy price. Tank drivers have lotsa lotsa servicing of the tank to perform unlike the tank gunners, but we also go down to the vehicle shed to help them wif the servicing larz. Since they know the stuff better, they usually do much more than us lorz. Well, back to the outfield yesterday.

It was a great moment in my life as it's the 1st time I'm driving a vehicle! Haha, funny rite, I get to drive a 16 tonne tank b4 I even learnt driving a car which is usually less than 1 tonne. It's quite different driving a tank and a car. The tank doesn't have a steering wheel and luckily, it is semi-automatic(instead of manual) which means we dun have to step on a clutch everytime we wana shift gear. My 1st drive was simply horrendous. It was easier than I thought and so I started off fine. The gear is on my right and I was supposed to use my right hand to shift gear but, because the tank keep drifting to the left, I instinctively felt tt I had to keep my right hand on the right steering in case the tank drifts off-course while I shift gear lorz. My coordination is very lousy at times lorz and so when I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, I screwed up and the tank indeed went off course and bashed some vegetation.(luckily there were no trees where I went off-course, jus tall grass) Of course, my tank commander scolded me lorz, lol. When we returned to the admin area, he asked for an explanation for what happened and offered me advice on what I should do lorz. The main thing is tt I had the tendency to chiong but since it was my 1st time driving, I couldn't really control the vehicle when it was going at a rather high speed(maybe jus ard 30+km/h larz, sounds very slow rite? for a tank, it is quite fast le, 1st time driving lehz! =P). I was the only one who had to do a re-run for the 1st route but oh well, I did okay on the re-run and proceeded on lorz. In total, everyone had 5 runs, 3 in the day, 2 at nite.

B4 we went for the outfield, we had to service the tanks on thursday. Since 3 of my coy's tanks are on standby for the unit, we had to loan a tank from a-coy. Man, their organisation sucks big time. There're these things called service plates which have to be mounted b4 going outfield and of course, since we loaned the tank for use, we do it ourselves lorz. They can't even provide us wif enough of those! For my coy, when we do servicing, the bolts and nuts of these service plates are grouped together by which tank they come from(messy enough to waste time when mounting the plates le). *Piangz* The a-coy have ALL their bolts and nuts together in a plastic bag. ALL the bolts and nuts from all 4 tanks together *sigh*. We were late for the prep for outfield cos we had some stuff to do on our own tanks as well. Thus, the a-coy tankees of course had the privelege and advantage of searching for the right bolt and nuts first. So we had to waste a lot of time searching for suitable screws to mount the service plates lorz. The other coys also dun have enough serviceable tanks and so u can understand and guess that they gave us a tank that was 2nd standard compared to theirs(although theirs is also terrible larz). This is when I realise how wonderful it is to be in b-coy lorz. A-coy is disorganised and the men are unmotivated to work. They're very slack and when the commanders pass down instructions, they even dare to defy orders(cmi larz, if they dun work together, how to function as a platoon?). The tank that they gave us ar, when we were doing servicing last nite and this morn aft returning from outfield, our sgt told us the tank wasn't well-serviced weekly as it was supposed to lorz. Sian diaoz.

The tank gunners are back together again for this 2wks since we passed out from GTW(gunnery training wing) back in May. I felt ver sad to see the same old ppl who I'm very very sick/irritated of lorz. These ppl ar, the mono-intake ppl(no offense to the nice ones), behave machiam they're one level above the rest one lorz. Heard from one from c-coy, these irritating ppl treat some of my A-level friends in the company like dogs lorz, always bully them. They almost ended up in fights somemore.(I'm glad I chose to come to b-coy. The mono-intake ppl at b-coy are great ppl! They're more neutral in terms of their feelings towards the differences of A-level and non-A-level ppl) I really can't understand why these ppl can't be more understanding and accomodating. They treat their own kind of ppl well but for the rest, they can't be the least bothered about what these other ppl think at all lorz. I really wonder if they can see that I simply dislike them. After encountering such ppl, I realise I'm not really a hao ren like some ppl think lorz. My buddy, Kok Boon, for one, can communicate wif them fine lorz, but not me larz. I really hate them lorz, can u imagine? HATE lehz. From my pt of view however, their proud behaviour is actually to hide their real feelings inside lorz. Somehow I get the strong feeling that they dun wana lose out to the 'A-level ppl' like they like to call us. They wana prove that they're better than us. The pt I hope they realise is, everyone has their own strong pts mahz, 'A-level ppl' can study, ITE/N-level ppl can't, but they're usually better at physical hardwork compared to us lorz.

This is a short, normal wkend for me and once I return to camp, it'll b another 3 consecutive days of outfield. Sure jialat jialat wanz, cos we return everyday earliest 11pm and by the time we finish our servicing up to a standard(set by our commanders), it'll be already 3+pm le. Then the nxt day, we'll wake up at ard 5+am for breakfast and b4 long, we'll move outfield again. Duno if I can tahan larz, will see when the time comes. 'Til then, it's now time to relak! ;)
